3 WOMEN

“3 Women” is a psychological drama directed by Robert Altman in 1977. The film centers around the lives of three women who work at a health spa in the California desert. Pinky (Sissy Spacek) is a naive young woman who becomes infatuated with Millie (Shelley Duvall), a talkative and outgoing co-worker. As Pinky becomes more and more like Millie, their relationship becomes increasingly complicated, ultimately leading to a mysterious and haunting conclusion.

The film explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and the elusive nature of human relationships. Altman’s signature improvisational style and overlapping dialogue create a dreamlike atmosphere that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. The film’s haunting score and surreal imagery add to the overall sense of mystery and unease.

“3 Women” has been praised for its unique vision and exploration of female identity, as well as the standout performances of Spacek and Duvall. It is considered a classic of 1970s American cinema and is thought-provoking and enigmatic.
